This conversation occurred at the Lafave dinner table
Jarvie: Mom, when I grow up I am never going to go to war.
Mom: You are never going to go to war?
Jarvie: No Mom, I am never going to go to war. I don’t want to die when I’m young and I don’t want to kill anyone. So I’m never going to war!
Mom: We call that being a conscientious objector. Can you say conscientious objector?
Jarve: Conscientious objector! Mom what is a conscientious objector?
Mom: A conscientious objector is one who thinks a lot and then says no, no, no that’s not right for me and I’m not going to do it.
Jarve: Hmmm. I think I am a conscientious objector!
