Coaching to Augment my Detox from The Sad Diet

Today I met none other than the fabulous Anna Cortes, a Wellness Coach with the International Coaching Federation! She works at the Center for Functional Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic. She studied at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition with Joshua Rosenthal. Although she has been coaching for about four years and had her own business, she left it all to join the functional medicine movement! I love that! A woman with conviction and actions to follow up her passion!

Anna will be working with me on the phone! How convenient! This service is literally part of the package at the Center for Functional Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic! I am so delighted!

Although we met so she could help me order my supplements, we began our work right away when she asked me this powerful question, “What will be the most difficult part of this?” I mentioned moving the kids right along with me. I suggested that I didn’t know what to tell them and how to couch it. She reassured me by saying I didn’t need to say anything! I just need to model the appropriate behavior and they will consume the information as their brains are little recorders. That was very reassuring, but heck do I ever have my work cut out for me!

I am so glad to have Anna along for the ride. Our next call will be on Friday August 20th at 10:00 AM. I can use all the help I can get! Can wait to get started!

Could I really be that dense?

Sometimes I just amaze myself!

The answer to the question is a definitive YES and here’s why.  I was sitting on the phone today, when I said, “You can’t fritter the time away!”  And all of a sudden bingo!  I got it for the first time, the very first time.  The expression fritter your time away is like that fritter in the frying pan.  If left unattended, it will burn.  You have to mind your time, like you have to mind that fritter in the frying pan, if you want a good result for either one.  I don’t know why I am like this, but it must be some minor brain problem.  I remember when I was in my forties, suddenly realizing why K-9 had something to do with dogs!  Canine or K-9 not really that different, just a few symbols apart.  I had the canine and dog connection solid in my brain, but the rest of the connections befuddled me.  In my own dyslexic way, I never made the accurate connection, until I was in my forties.  Most people take these things for granted, me I have to figure them out after many repeated exposures!  In general I am not a stupid woman, but I do have these moments of being overly concrete and things that are obtuse completely confounding me.  I guess they really broke the mold, when they made me.
